The Black Donkey Underworld Beer Collection offers the chance of double sips of our native Irish beers! The Underworld series of native Irish beers was born out of our quest for adventure, our sense of history and our respect for tradition. Originally released in 2018, the beers were fermented with a wild native yeast. It was harvested from Oweynagat cave in Co. Roscommon. The yeast was called Morrigan 1 after the legendary shapeshifting warrior goddess who once inhabited the cave.
Oweynagat or (Cave of the Cats) was thought to be the “Gate to Hell” or entrance to the Underworld in Irish mythology. Each Underworld beer is represented by an animal connected to the legendary Cave.

- Allta “The Wolf ” (4.6% – Pale Ale, hoppy, malty, crisp) x1
- Rua “The Red Birds” (6.0% – Native Amber Ale malty, fruity, toffee, toast.) x1
